Emma Haskins

Emma Haskins is a highschool English teacher, currently pursuing a Masters degree in Education in Finland. Sharon and Emma went to boarding school in Pakistan together, but became close friends when working in Kabul. They enjoyed exploring parks, historical sites and restaurants together.

Huai Ming Sun

Huai Ming studied Bioengineering at Berkeley, and spent over two years in West Africa with the Peace Corps. She will be pursuing a Masters degree in Education starting in the Fall. Huai Ming and Sharon were roommates for two years during college, and share a love for all things international, unique, and artsy.

Emily Rauscher

Emily is getting her PhD in Astrophysics at Columbia. Emily and Sharon were roommates for a year, in an apartment just off Berkeley’s Telegraph Avenue. Sharon and Emily traveled to Hawaii in 2004, exploring the Big Island’s volcanic black sand beaches, mineral pools, steam vents and waterfalls. Emily has hosted Sharon in New York during numerous culture-shock retreats between Afghanistan and California.

Christina Clampett

Christina is finishing her Masters degree in Psychology at San Francisco State. In her internship as a School Psychologist, Christina likes doing art therapy with children. Christina and Sharon were roommates for two years in Berkeley. When meeting to catch up, there’s never a question of what to eat: pad thai and thai iced tea, with sticky rice and mango for dessert.

Sarah Economides

Sarah is studying for a Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. Sarah is Tim’s sister. Sarah and Sharon have bonded over talking about their brothers’ similarities, hiking, tennis, long-distance phone calls, and Sharon’s nephew Peter.

Amber Stitt

Amber Stitt graduated from California State University East Bay with a degree in International Studies, and will be returning from an exchange program in Germany at the end of the summer.  She plans to pursue further training in nursing or as a physician’s assistant.

Amber and Sharon were childhood friends, and spent many hot summers in Peshawar inventing games and creating television show remakes with her videocamera.  Amber and Sharon were classmates and soccer (football) teammates at Murree Christian School, and they have been on and off roommates in Fremont for the last three years.
